This man should be DISBARRED for the horrible things he does to his clients!!! DO NOT USE him for your own sake. File a complaint with the Texas bar association, if he has done anything wrong to you in the last 5 years!!! I would give no stars if it was an option. And I would have filed a complaint if I had known I could have. I hired Mr. Ruzzo to help me with custody of my son during my divorce many years ago. Instead Mr Ruzzo decided that he liked my ex husband better and called the opposing counsel and asked them what he could do to help them. When they technically declined Mr Ruzzo decided that he was not working for me the day of my mediation meeting and did not inform me of any of this until I was at the mediation. He left me without counsel, would give no advice and no assistance during the mediation. At the end of the meeting he told my ex he was rooting for him. I lost my son and had to spend years fixing what Mr. Ruzzo broke. And my son suffered because of Mr. Ruzzo.
Ineffective assistance of counsel! I was a victim of his and James Davis back in 2003. "I need more money or I am walking and you can use a Public Defender, sign the plea." Forensic proof I was innocent, but he ignored it, and the DA Mike Trent suppressed it. Before I left for 10 years of prison, "I thought that we could have won your case." This was after I asked him for the case files to file an appeal.
Horrible Attorney, Horrible staff, do not use Patrick J. Ruzzo!! I repeat DO NOT USE PATRICK J. RUZZO! Even if appointed by the State, request another attorney.
