Kevin LaMarca is an associate with The Lanier Law Firm's Houston office. He represents clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including toxic torts and asbestos related injuries. In addition, Mr. LaMarca works closely with the bankruptcy and settlement departments for the asbestos section of the firm.
Mr. LaMarca was originally born in Louisiana but grew up in Cypress, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in 2007, where he studied both business and communications, with an emphasis on argumentation and rhetoric. He then earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, graduating cum laude. While in law school, Mr. LaMarca participated in numerous on and off campus advocacy competitions, including both moot court and mock trial. He was a regional finalist and second place brief writer at the 2010 Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition. He was also a best brief nominee at the Jackson Walker Moot Court Competition, an annual competition held at SMU Law. Beyond his moot court and mock trial experience, Mr. LaMarca was also an editor on SMU’s International Law Review Association. While on Law Review, Mr. LaMarca received SMU’s prestigious Quill and Torch Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing. His article Renewable Energy Initiatives – A Look at Argentina and Law 26,190 was published in the Summer 2011 edition of the Law and Business Reviews of the Americas.
Mr. LaMarca worked in the firm’s New York office before attending law school. His high work ethic and communication skills made him an obvious permanent addition to the Lanier Law Firm team upon graduation.
Mr. LaMarca was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2012. He is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Houston Young Lawyers Association.
Mr. LaMarca enjoys playing soccer, watching college football, and rooting for the Baylor Bears.
