About Katherine V. Frisbie

Katherine Frisbie is a senior associate attorney at WSHB’s Houston office. She graduated from SMU Dedman School of Law as a Dean’s Scholar and Order of Barrister’s honoree. She graduated with honors from Emory University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies.

Katherine is a trial attorney. She previously served as a felony prosecutor at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted murders, sexual assaults, child abuse, and an array of violent crimes. Katherine has prosecuted over 5,000 cases and prepared over 150 cases for trial. Katherine’s first-chair trial experience and trial supervision experience make her an asset to the WSHB team.

Her passion for courtroom advocacy began in law school at SMU Dedman School of Law. Katherine was awarded SMU Law 2L Advocate of the Year, Jackson Walker Moot Court Best Advocate, All-Star Mock Trial Second Best Advocate of about 400 competitors, and 1L Closing Argument First Place Champion. In law school, she clerked at the Harris County, Dallas County, and Rockwall County District Attorney’s Offices, a criminal defense firm, a medical malpractice firm, and the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office. She also enjoyed her time as Notes Editor and Staff Editor on the SMU Law Science and Technology Law Review. Katherine’s scholarship on ephemeral messaging is published in Circuits, the Journal of the Computer & Technology Section of the State Bar of Texas.

In her free time, Katherine enjoys volunteering, traveling, and gardening. She is the Alumnae Leader for Ursuline Academy of Dallas’s Class of 2014. Katherine also enjoys her membership in the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta.
