About Ms. Duana Boswell-Loechel

Duana Boswell-Loechel grew up in Moore, Oklahoma and moved to League City, Texas her junior year of high school where she attended and graduated from Clear Creek High School.

Duana earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology and Marine Fisheries from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from University of Houston Clear Lake. After earning her BA, Duana took time off from school to start a family.

When her twin daughters were a year old, she entered South Texas College of Law Houston, where she earned her JD in 2004. She started her own firm in 2005 in Galveston County, where her solo-practice focused on Probate, Family Law and Criminal Defense.

After closing her solo firm in 2009 following Hurricane Ike, she worked for Lone Star Legal Aid until June 2017. She was the Litigation Director for family law and probate for Lone Star Legal Aid, and also represented clients in bankruptcy, Hague matters, landlord-tenant, public and subsidized housing, credit card defense, social security and public benefits, foreclosures, and appeals.

Duana received a resolution from the Texas State Bar for pro bono work in 2009, and in 2015 Duana obtained her board certification in Family Law, and in 2016 was voted one of Houstonia magazine’s top 100 lawyers.

Following many successful years at Lone Star Legal Aid, Duana then served as the Managing Attorney of the Houston/Clear Lake office for the Texas law firm Bailey & Galyen until December 2018. While at Bailey & Galyen, Duana predominantly focused on family law cases and practiced in all Brazoria, Galveston and Harris County Courts.

In January 2019, Duana established the Boswell Law Firm to provide clients with the ultimate level of personalized focus and careful attention that each unique case deserves. Duana’s office is conveniently located in the heart of the central business district in downtown Houston.

Additionally, Duana is an experienced, certified mediator in civil, probate, family and CPS cases.

Hired Attorney

I first heard of Duana when she spoke in a local group of mine. I liked what she was saying so much that I hired her to rework a contract for my business. She took the time to ask me the nuances of my business before taking my original contract and reworking it. I would, and plan on, hiring her to do more contract work for me in the future. Thank you Duana for doing a great job!

Hired Attorney

After going through 2 attorneys that created one heck of a mess for my divorce decree, Duana Boswell came in and worked hard to re-create a workable agreement that is better suited to my needs. She is knowledgeable in family law and experienced in difficult separations including those that involve child custody and/or domestic violence. I couldn’t ask for a better attorney. Boswell Law Firm took my anxiety away through the process and handled my case with integrity and intelligence. She communicated well and managed my expectations appropriately to avoid any surprises along the way. I definitely recommend Duana Boswell.

Hired Attorney

Boswell mishandled my case so poorly that it was dismissed for want of prosecution, which means it was dismissed because nothing was done in a significant amount of time. She knew I was the victim of domestic violence yet filed paperwork without my consent that revealed my new address to the other party of my case which is also my assailant. Communication from her team was beyond horrid. So many false promises. Never sent timely invoices. She even CC’d every client in an email revealing all of our names to each other. Worse legal experience of my life. I wouldn’t trust this firm to hold a penny for me. Very dismissive, rude, egotistical and narcissistic.
