D avid M. Louie handles complex commercial litigation, construction defect litigation, general liability insurance defense involving catastrophic injuries, government relations and procurement. He is the former Attorney General of Hawaii, having served a four-year term from 2011 to 2014. As Attorney General, he was the chief law enforcement officer for Hawaii, providing advice, counsel and representation to the Governor, Legislature, state agencies and employees. Mr. Louie was involved in many issues of importance for the state and the nation.
Education
Mr. Louie graduated from Occidental College and Boalt Hall School of Law (now Berkeley Law School). From 1977 to 2010, Mr. Louie was the managing partner of a litigation firm, practicing in the areas of civil litigation, insurance defense, construction defect litigation and commercial litigation. He has handled numerous jury trials to verdict, including many high profile matters.
