Mark was appointed to the Supreme Court Task Force on Judicial Discipline, 2005, and served on the Mississippi Bar Complaint Tribunal, 2004-10. He is an active Member of the Bar Committee, Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program, 2016-20. Nelson was recognized by a Lifetime Achievement Award, by America's Top 100 Lawyers. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit.

Mark Nelson went above and beyond what was needed for my case. My case became personal to him and his efforts were more than I could have hoped for. He was extremely professional, always kept me in the loop and made sure that if I didn't understand something, he was so great about clarifying it for me. We had great results at trial and even though the other side appealed, the appeal was handled great. Mark Nelson did an excellent job in weighing all the pros and cons with us. Extremely satisfied
