Kate is an experienced litigator with extensive experience handling all facets of complex insurance coverage issues. Her reputation for consistent, strong results has earned her accolades from clients who seek her counsel on the most complicated of issues throughout the nation.

Kate's insurance coverage practice includes the litigation of a broad range of coverage issues under commercial general liability, homeowners and property policies, professional liability and automobile liability, as well as claims for bad faith, unfair insurance practices and extra-contractual liability. She has extensive experience analyzing first- and third-party coverage issues and potential exposures related to COVID-19 claims, including claims for business interruption coverage. She also has significant experience litigating commercial liability, employment practices liability, and general liability cases. She is widely sought out for her counsel on best claim-handling practices. Kate has successfully argued dispositive motions in coverage cases in several jurisdictions.

She handles complex insurance matters, coverage analysis and commercial litigation in both trial and appellate matters. Her experience includes representing clients in cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, as well as the Connecticut appellate courts, and has successfully argued before the Connecticut Supreme Court and the Connecticut Appellate Court.

Kate is based in the firm’s Hartford office. She is the recipient of several awards and accolades for her legal work including being named a Rising Star for three consecutive years for work both in litigation and coverage.
