He serves on the Connecticut Bar Association Antitrust and Federal Practices Sections' Executive Board and was past chair of its Court Rules Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Hartford County, New York and District of Columbia Bar Associations and was a Trustee of the Connecticut Rivers Boy Scout Council. He also served on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Defense Counsel and was President of its Foundation.

Mr. Wiechmann has been designated as a Best Lawyer in Connecticut and New England Super Lawyer and has an A.V. preeminent rating with Martindale Hubbell.
