About Christina A. Ginter

Christina Ginter is a principal based in the Detroit office. She focuses her practice on appellate law and complex legal issues in litigation, including tort reform, class certification, mortgage litigation, and setting aside defaults. She is admitted to practice in all Michigan courts, as well as the federal district courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

With extensive experience in both the federal and state appellate courts, Ms. Ginter regularly handles appeals involving a wide range of substantive issues, including medical malpractice, class action litigation, mortgage and real estate litigation, civil rights claims, employment discrimination, and commercial litigation. She has published and presented on such diverse topics as post-judgment and appellate procedure, future advance mortgages, Michigan tort reform, HIPAA, and the law of loss of opportunity.

Ms. Ginter has served in many professional organizations devoted to appellate practice. She was elected by the attorneys of the 600-member State Bar Appellate Practice Section to serve as Chair of the Section for 2009-2010. She was also appointed by the Court of Appeals to sit on the Court’s Settlement Committee.

Ms. Ginter is AV Peer Review Rated by LexisNexis/Martindale Hubbell. The AV Peer Review rating is the highest rating allowed. It attests to a lawyer’s legal ability and professional ethics, and reflects the confidential opinions of the Bar and the Judiciary.

After having been named a “Rising Star” for several years, Ms. Ginter was named a Michigan “Super Lawyer” in Appellate Practice annually since 2012. Only five percent of the attorneys in Michigan are named “Super Lawyers” each year. From 2013-2021, Ms. Ginter also was recognized by DBusiness Magazine as a “Top Lawyer.” She was also recognized as a Leading Lawyer in 2021 and 2022. This recognition is based on a survey of their peers.

Ms. Ginter received a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Michigan, and received her J.D. with honors from the University of Michigan Law School.
