    Ellison F. McCoy is a Partner and Litigation Manager in the Greenville, South Carolina office of Jackson Lewis LLP. Mr. McCoy is engaged exclusively in the practice of employment law on behalf of management. He graduated from Wake Forest University, cum laude, in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Business, and received his law degree from the University of Georgia, cum laude, in 1994. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis LLP in August 2004, Mr. McCoy spent ten years practicing management-side employment law with a regional labor and employment law firm. Mr. McCoy has represented employers in litigation matters before state and federal administrative agencies and various state and federal trial and appellate courts. During his legal career, Mr. McCoy has handled a wide-variety of employment matters involving claims such as discrimination based on race, sex, national origin, age and disability; sexual and racial harassment; wrongful discharge; retaliation; breach of contract; defamation; covenants not to compete and trade secret violations; and violations of the Family Medical Leave Act. In addition, he has extensive experience counseling clients on compliance issues and litigation avoidance strategies and regularly conducts management training programs on various employment-related topics. Mr. McCoy devotes a significant amount of his practice to assisting employers with disability practice management, particularly including issues arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act. He serves as a member of the Jackson Lewis Disability, Leave and Health Management Practice Group. Mr. McCoy is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. He is admitted to practice before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Courts of Georgia and South Carolina, and the U.S. District Courts in Georgia and South Carolina. Mr. McCoy lives in Greenville with his wife, Jeanne, and three children. He is an active volunteer with St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's School, where he serves on the School Advisory Board and is Chairman of the St. Mary's Classic and Gala. Mr. McCoy is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class XXXI and was named one of Greenville's Best & Brightest 35 and Under in 2004.
