I had Mr. Whalen draw up my Last Will and Testament as well as my "Living Will" and Power of Attorney as well as Medical Power of Attorney for my son to handle my affairs should I become incapacitated.
I liked the fact that we could e-mail documents for review.
The way they handled my case was so unprofessional. I used my MetLife legal plan, and they dropped my case the day my discovery was due! Didn't say anything to me. MetLife was covering my entire divorce, and they could not understand it, they still don't understand it. No one advocated for me or my son, I left a very abusive marriage, and I was under a lot of control and trauma. I needed someone to defend me when I could not defend myself. They totally failed me and my son. They had no idea how to handle it or how to help me. I had to move out of our home with our son due to another violent attack. Found a place for me and my son to live, and I was without child support for the entire time of the divorce. Although I asked for it for months, I was told "money isn't everything". They didn't care to help me or advocate for me. When it came to mediation, attorney didn't prepare at all. She didn't look at my discovery, my spouse's, or absolutely anything. Interview attorneys trust me!
The law office is a giant scam took my young nieces money of 4000 for a heir ship and never did anything in over 2 months. When asked for a refund was sent a bill over the 4000, for charges of inner office communications between staff. Reading email from client. While my niece was waiting for them to file which they never did other family members stoled her dad’s things. She hired another lawyer in one day he did more and filed Whalen’s office did nothing.
While the Law Offices of Kelley F. Whalen, P.C. in Georgetown, TX, presents itself as a legitimate firm handling various cases, including fraud, online complaints and past news reports suggest serious allegations of misconduct and potential scams, including misappropriating client funds, leading to disciplinary actions like license loss in other states, making it crucial for potential clients to verify credentials and research thoroughly. They took my money and never assisted me and refused to return my money - $1,750.00 and to this day I have not received any legal services from Mr Whalen or spoken to the attorney. I was promised by the office to get my money returned which they lied. When I went to my bank to dispute the charge to get my money back - the law office created fraudulent documents and lied to the bank. Not an honest or ethical law office - reporting to the bar association. They must be desperate or greedy for money to play these games.
Worst law firm I have ever worked with. After 3.5 months I haven't even gotten to the point of a consultation. I've had to initiate communication follow-up every time. Have had to submit documentation multiple times as they had no record. Just POOR! Stay away!
