    in the American College of Trial Lawyers, a legal organization that invites less than one percent of the lawyers in North America into membership. Since 1989, his peers have named Mr. Colvin one of the Best Lawyers in America. He has served as president and a member of the board of directors of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Colvin was appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, which regulates and enforces the Rules of Professional Conduct, the mechanics of legal ethics. He served as chairman of the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission. He also was a member of the Board of Governors for the Indiana State Bar Association and chaired its Trial Lawyers Section. In 2003-2004, he served as President of the Indiana State Bar Association. Mr. Colvin also serves as an attorney member of the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission and Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications.

    He is a board member of the Allen County Courthouse Preservation Trust, the Allen County Library Foundation, the Fort Wayne Parks Foundation, and Heartland Chamber Chorale. He has served as a board member for Parkview Memorial Hospital, Inc., the Fort Wayne Educational Foundation, and Fort Wayne Country Club.

All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.

• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.

Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.
