Joe Rugari joined the firm’s Fairfax Office in April 2026, after starting his career primarily advising clients in corporate and real estate matters including Board governance, mergers and acquisitions, franchisee representation, commercial and residential leases, construction contracting, residential home sales and purchases, and intellectual property acquisition and protection. His practice included both counseling and litigation, and he brings the skills he’s developed to bear for the firm.
In his practice at the firm, he provides general counseling and representation to community associations in a variety of contexts, ranging from organizational governance and restructuring to assessments collections matters, document revisions, contract negotiation, and everything in between.
Before joining the firm, Joe worked at a law firm specializing in business and real estate litigation and counseling, located in Fairfax Virgina. In law school, he served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology at the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law, and worked briefly at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, Division of Licensure and Regulatory Services.
Joe received his law degree in 2021 from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law. Currently, he is admitted to practice law in Virginia. He received his B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2018, and is a local, having grown up in Herndon, Virginia and Reston, Virgina.
Joe spends his free time cycling, reading, or spending time with his family.
