Are all beneficiaries of bank accounts payable on death, or must it be explicitly stated?

I don't understand your question. The account might have a POD designation or it might not have a POD designation. It must be explicitly stated to have a POD designation. Otherwise, if there is no POD designation, and there is just one owner, the account would be part of the owner's estate.

When setting up a power of attorney for married parents are they automatically first or do they need to be named?

Answered by attorney Rick Lee Denker
Estate Planning lawyer at Denker Associates, PLLC
They will need to be specifically named and each parent should have their own durable power of attorney.

If something happens to my boyfriend what will happen to our house?

Almost none. Why is the house solely in his name? Has he paid for it with only his money? Have you discussed this with him? Does he have a will? Are you in it? Find out. You may not want to be in that relationship.
