Pursuant to the Cal. Probate Code, with the exception of Holographic wills, in order for a will to be valid it must be dated, signed by the deceased and witnessed by a least two witnesses. From the facts you have stated the 2010 will should not be valid.

How can I find out more information about my mother's estate?

Answered by attorney Sharon M. Siegel
Estate Planning lawyer at Siegel & Siegel, P.C.
It sounds like you may be too late. Your only option, and it will take significant legal work, is to reopen the estates for an accounting.
