Alexander J. Gase advises clients on international, federal, and state tax planning and tax controversy matters, as well as corporate and transactional matters for domestic and international companies.
Alex’s practice involves counseling clients on corporate mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, and handling a multitude of general corporate governance matters, including the provision of governance services for nonprofit and other tax-exempt organizations. Alex is also experienced in advising and implementing tax planning for individuals, multinational corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies, as well as assisting clients with business formation and entity selection and mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Additionally, Alex has experience guiding small business owners in obtaining government relief and other subsidized incentives, particularly those related to theCOVID-19 pandemic. Alex also has a background in mentoring clients through various employment contract disputes.
Prior to joining Leech Tishman, Alex worked in the Trusts & Estates group as both a law clerk and briefly as an associate attorney at Leech Tishman, where he assisted in both estate planning and estate administration matters. Prior to this, Alex spent over four years working at Deloitte Tax LLP, where he regularly engaged in implementing global tax minimization plans, tax mergers, acquisitions & divestitures, corporate tax audits, and the preparation and review of international tax returns for an array of clients, including multiple Fortune 500 companies. Alex also served as an associate editor on the Pittsburgh Tax Review and participated in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He also has a Certificate in Corporate Valuation with University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.
