If I transfer the title of my car to someone else, can I get out of putting an IID on it?

Answered by attorney Jason William Savela
DUI/DWI lawyer at The Savela Law Firm, P.C.
Yes, but you do need to apply to dmv for an interlock license and file an affidavit that you do not have a car in your name and agree not to drive a car that does not have interlock on it. If you do not get an interlock license, then the time does not count towards the interlock requirement.

You should forget about driving for 2-3 years. Get ready to pay about $ 2500 in fines and fees, and get ready to do about 300 hours of community service.

Is it legal for them to have me draw blood?

Answered by attorney Jason William Savela
DUI/DWI lawyer at The Savela Law Firm, P.C.
The good news is that the first blood draw probably is not valid due to blood in the mouth. This means that we should be able to win the DMV hearing and you would not lose your license. If a judge approved a warrant, they can draw blood again. But, there may be an issue with the signing. If so, this may keep out the blood results.
