Would my college be liable if something would have happened to friends of mine who were asked to leave my dorm room after being caught drinking.

Answered by attorney William R. Pelger
DUI/DWI lawyer at Pelger Law
i guess your asking if your friends were in a wreck and were injured would the school be liable. I dougt it as they were more or less tresspassers if not on school property with authorization from the owner, the school. however, if the school let them leave campus knowing they were facing danger-i.e., they were drunk, flooding, hurricanes, etc. maybe a creative lawyer can get the school in the case.

Hadndui in 2005. 10 yr suspension of license.

Key to having your license reinstated after a 10 year suspension is working closely with the state of New Jersey Department of motor vehicle. The department of motor vehicle will be able to tell you whether or not you have filled all of the requirements to have your license reinstated. There are procedural requirements which must be fulfilled. For example, you must go to IRDC classes. There are specific fines and surcharges which must be paid. The department of motor vehicle will be able to tell you if you have filled all of the requirements. The process is tedious and painstaking. If you become frustrated and need our help please call. Can i dispute having a ignition interlock device in my car for 2 years?

you should start with the prosecutor to see if he/she is of the opinion that the judge will change the interlock sentence. this would be the least expensive. if you are not successful, they you would have to appeal the the superior court in the county where the DUI conviction occurred. this would require a formal appeal and as such, would be more expensive. the appeal would cost $2500.  please let me know if we can help. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600
