Is there any statute of limitations for a DUI or can they wait 4 years to charge you with a DUI?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
There is no statute of limitations problem. You were arrested in March and accused in November of the same year. You had a court date, and failed to appear. A warrant was issued. You then failed to contact the courts for 4 years. There is no statute problem. You sound funny.

Will I have to disclose This?

Richard Francis Sweeney

DUI/DWI lawyer at Richard F. Sweeney, Attorney at Law
A violation is not a crime. Therefore, if the question is whether you were ever convicted of a crime, the anser is no. If the question is whether you have been arrested, that is different. If you were just handed an appearance ticket, and were'nt handcuffed or placed in a cell, you can say that you were never arrested. It is no different than getting a speeding ticket. There is no provision for expunging such a violation.

How long will the Statute of Limitations on a DUI last on the record?

Answered by attorney Eric E Rothstein (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Rothstein Law PLLC
The statute of limitations was satisfied at arrest. Assuming you were convicted for either driving with impaired or driving under the influence these convictions do not seal and will stay on your record forever.
