Will I be in some sort of trouble because it was my car?

If you were not cited, then you most likely have nothing to worry about. Your friend on the other could be looking at some possible jail time for driving without a license and could be deported for overstaying her visa.

Will I receive additional jail time for a first offense DUI with 0.032 BAC?

Answered by attorney Michael Thomas Lynch (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Michael T. Lynch
A DUI is a charge for driving while being under the influence. A convicted individual can be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Following a breath test for blood alcohol content, a BAC of 0.032 provides a presumption of no impairment. However, if the blood test comes back with levels of drugs which would also impair driving you could still be convicted of a DUI. At this point the possibility of you doing jail time rests mostly upon the results of that blood test.

Can the California DMV suspend my license with no court conviction or charges filed?

Mark Corwin Bruce
Answered by attorney Mark Corwin Bruce (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Law Office M. C. Bruce
The DMV has an administrative process for license suspension on DUI which is independent of the court. You had to ask for that hearing within 10 days of the arrest. Now you're in the bad position of having to complete alcohol school to get your license back-but no alcohol school will take you without a court order.
