Am I eligible to request a normal license if my DUI was 4 years ago?

Answered by attorney Jason William Savela
DUI/DWI lawyer at The Savela Law Firm, P.C.
best way to determine this is to go to dmv and ask for a drivers record - it will say what needs to be done to get license back if you disagree or want someone to review it with.

Can I be convicted of DUI if I wasn't the one driving?

You can if the jury doesn't believe you or your witnesses. The best thing you can do is retain the most skilled and experienced DUI attorney you can.

How much does it normally cost to defend a DUI?

Answered by attorney Jason William Savela
DUI/DWI lawyer at The Savela Law Firm, P.C.
It very much depends on the facts of the case, whether you go to motions and or trial, whether an expert is necessary and the experience of your attorney. There are a bunch of lousy attorneys that will simply stand next to you while you plead guilty that will charge about $1500. Very few of them will actually do anything positive for you. They will be very happy to take your money. Some of the best Colorado DUI attorneys will charge $10000 or more, and be worth it. I know this is a crappy response. I wish I could be more specific. I ask for a $4000 retainer and bill at $300 per hour. If we go to trial, it will likely be closer to $8000 without an expert. Most of my cases that plead out cost between $2000 and $3000. This includes conducting the DMV hearing.
