Will having to put an ignition immobilizer stop me from early probation termination?

Hudson Thomas Bair
Answered by attorney Hudson Thomas Bair (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Kapsack & Bair, LLP
You should discuss this with your attorney. If the ignition interlock is a term and condition of your sentence, likely you will not be able to get your probation terminated early. An attorney in your area may be able to help answer your question.

How much does it normally cost to defend a DUI?

Answered by attorney Matthew D Jefferson (Unclaimed Profile)
DUI/DWI lawyer at Jefferson and Biggs
It varies widely, in Utah I have heard of costs anywhere from 2,500-15,000. Best to call around and speak directly with the attorneys. Also it depends on what you want done. Many lawyers, our firm included, charge one amount for pre-trial and another amount once it is set for trial. (99.9%) of cases never go to trial.... Best of luck.

Can my son get his DUI dismissed since he didn't take the breath test?

Probably zero. Refusal is admitted in trial as proof that the person refused the tests because he knew he was under the influence.
