the actual charge is having an 'open alcohol container' in the vehicle. the charge can be for the passenger or for the driver. one need not be driving the car for this charge.  were you also charged with 'operating the vehicle' ? ed dimon, esq.

New Jersey is an "at will" employment state. Therefore, you can be fired for any reason or no reason at all. Unless you are in a protected class : religion, race etc. You probably have no cause of action.
