Would my college be liable if something would have happened to friends of mine who were asked to leave my dorm room after being caught drinking.

Answered by attorney William R. Pelger
DUI/DWI lawyer at Pelger Law
i guess your asking if your friends were in a wreck and were injured would the school be liable. I dougt it as they were more or less tresspassers if not on school property with authorization from the owner, the school. however, if the school let them leave campus knowing they were facing danger-i.e., they were drunk, flooding, hurricanes, etc. maybe a creative lawyer can get the school in the case.

Is it normal to be fired for a DUI?

It does not sound "normal" to me, but that does not mean it's illegal. You need to consult with an employment attorney. If you would like a referral for an employment attorney, we can be reached toll free.

Can an officer testify that he was present and heard me say to another that I refused a breath test.

Edward J. Dimon

Yes. Officer is a 'fact' witness and can testify that he heard you say that you 'refuse' to take the test. What were the circumstances ? What caused the stop ? What happened on the 'field sobriety tests' ? Ed Dimon 732-797-1600
