What actions I need to take and what kind of money is going to be involved in a DUI for the medication I’m taking?

DUI/DWI lawyer at Freeborn Law Offices P.S.
A DUI is not strictly related to alcohol. You can receive a DUI for drugs as well, even legally consumed drugs. Remember, alcohol consumption is also legal. What is illegal is to drive while under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. A DUI is very costly. Punishable by a maximum of 1 year in jail and a $5,000.00 fine. Mandatory minimum jail time is i day, but could be more based upon the facts. Minimum fine is about $1,000.00. suspension of license for 90 days, after suspension you will have an ignition interlock on your car for 1 year; also required to submit to alcohol/drug treatment if the court requires. Insurance rates will increase dramatically.

You can. IF your alcohol issue (remember the DUI) is not addressed, the gun with alcohol mix can be deadly.

What can I do about my first DUI at 19 as a minor back in 2007 and wasn't able to complete the program?

First, you must ascertain whether there is a warrant for your arrest outstanding. Next you should probably contact the program. They may require you to attend more than the 5 classes. Lastly, you should obtain some documentation regarding what you have stated from 2007 until the present time. All of this will assist you in your request.
