How do I start to appeal a divorce judgement on my own.

If you can't win a decision by presenting evidence you're not likely to win an appeal, which is far more complicated. No one will be able to tell you how to appeal the decision in your case without reviewing the transcript, the decision and understanding the situation. Just be aware that the deadlines are very tight, and missing them is fatal.

It's not clear what you mean by a brief after a trial. Usually the trial ends with a decision.
