Can I get a divorce in 30 days or less?

Answered by attorney Vanessa J. Gorden
Divorce lawyer at GordenLaw, LLC
In Nebraska, absolutely not! Nebraska has a hard and fast waiting period of 60 days from the date of service on the Defendant or filing the voluntary appearance by the Defendant, which means even if you are 100% agreed on the divorce, assets, debts, children (if any), etc., you cannot obtain a divorce until the 60 days have passed.

What are the steps if I want to file for divorce and my husband is incarcerated but we have nothing to contest?

Answered by attorney Tracy Torni Gaudenzi (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Beier Howlett, P.C.
Same steps as if he were out of jail. You can still get divorced; however, he still needs to be served. Different jails/prisons provide various methods for service. You will need to contact them to find out how to serve him properly.

My husband of three months started drinking heavily and his attitude changed, can we get annulled?

Divorce lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
Most probably, but you could plead for an annulment as opposed to a divorce. One way or anther you should end this before you are further invested.
