Divorces are not matters that people should endeavor to represent themselves in. She needs an attorney and already has one.

Husband traded in a car for a new car during divorce

Answered by attorney Cindy S. Vova
Divorce lawyer at Law Offices of Cindy S. Vova, P.A.
Even if the Land Rover was in the name of the business, the business is a marital assets (assuming it was formed during the marriage...if not, parts may be-beyond the scope of this response) and therefore the car is an asset of the business. It may be considered dissipation, but one would have to figure out the  net value of the vehicle (Land Rover) at the time it was sold.  That equity would be the "marital asset" that could likely be added to the equitable distribution pot. I hope this helps.   Best wishes, Cindy S. Vova Law Office of Cindy S. Vova, P.A. 8551 West Sunrise Blvd. #301 Plantation, FL 33322 info@vovalaw.com 954-316-3496

If me and my husband can agree upon everything do we have to have lawyers?

William H Nebeker
Answered by attorney William H Nebeker (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Havens Law, LLC
Yes, you can get a divorce without attorneys, however it is still difficult to know what to file and when to file and how the documents should look. My recommendation is that you hire an attorney or mediator to oversee the process, this way you get it done fast and cheaply. I have helped many parties to the divorce in just coaching and supervising without formal representation, I highly recommend it. As far as the award of legal custody to the grandmother, you will want that award to cease and legal custody to be with the parents only. Unfortunately the issue of legal custody complicates what otherwise would have been a simple case. You should seek counsel on how to handle the legal custody issue.
