Same sex marriage in NJ

Answered by attorney Bari Zell Weinberger
Divorce lawyer at Weinberger Divorce Family Law Group, LLC
Your employer may have its own policies against dropping a spouse's health insurance coverage in the absence of a qualifying life event.  You may consider filing a complaint to dissolve your relationship with your spouse.  Once your relationship is dissolved, you will be able to remove your spouse from your health insurance without consequence.  In fact, once your relationship is dissolved, your spouse will no longer be able to stay on your health insurance.  The attorneys at Weinberger Law Group offer a free initial consultation.  Call today to schedule your appointment where you can discuss your concerns and your rights in greater detail with one of our experienced family law attorneys.

In Arizona, even if the court order does not say so, the obligation to pay spousal maintenance (alimony) terminates upon your marriage to another man.

WHEN YOU DIVORCE IS IT THE NEW JERSEY LAW THAT YOUR SPOUSE GETS HALF OF WHATEVER YOU HAVE WETHER THE SPOUSE HAS CONTRIBUTED OR IS NOT ON ANY DEEDS ?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
There are a lot of special circumstances and no one answer fits all.  There should be equitable distribution, but what is equitable is not always half.  There needs to be some recognition of ownership of whatever property is the marital home, and the source of funds for other properties is relevant.  Were any of the assets inherited?  Any asset that is inherited, and does not become a joint asset is not subject to distribution
