You have no obligation to support children over the age of 18 who are going off to college. Leasing cars is the same as suppoting them.  I am not a fan of car leases, and would not recommend leasing vehicles for the kids. If you and your wife have joint assets  I would recommend buying vehicles for the girls with cash that you and your wife jointly put up.  I would further have the vehicles titled in the girls names if they are over 18.  If the vehicles are titled in your name, you must provide the automobile insurance, you must be responsible for the lease payments,  and you are the one that will be sued of either one of them causes an accident. Better to have the vehicles titled and registered in the girls name.  If you are going to a mediation, I would not buy, sell, or lease anything until after the mediation.  I would not "trust" what your wife is telling you,  since she already proved that she cannot be trusted. I hope you have a lawyer, and if you don't I recommend you hire a lawyer and get some good advice.

Is there any way to have support alimony awarded to me?

You state you have been divorced since April. Do you have an order from the court?. If you have an order for alimony and child support and he is past due you can initiate contempt proceeding. If he is employed you can obtain a wage assignment order and serve it on his employer to directly withold the alimony and child support payment from his paychecks. Look for an attorney who offers limited scope representation as they can help you with the forms you will need and can give you legal advise without charging you a full retainer fee or visit your court's facilitator's office to get help for free.

Leslie Talbot was my Attorney in my 2012 divorce. Who would I contact to ask for copies of the divorce? I’ve moved out of state since 2012

Answered by attorney Nicole Kessler Ferry
Divorce lawyer at Nicole Kessler Ferry, P.A.
Your former attorney may have retained a copy of the final judgment; however, if not, you can create an online account with the Clerk of Court in the County where the divorce was entered. You can print off your final judgement from their webiste. Hope this helps.
