My daughters X wants to take their children to Indonesia to visit his new wife's family. He alway said he would take the children to Ireland, where he

Answered by attorney David Salvaggio

You did not say how old the children are and whether they already have passports.  Even if they do, in most cases your daughter's ex will need a letter signed by her, allowing the trip to Indonesia.  My recommendation is that your daughter speak (again) to her ex. If she is not completely satisfied, she should tell the ex that she will not consent and that he needs to try to obtain a Court Order. If she thinks that he will just ignore her, she should have a Motion filed herself, and give the reasons for her concern.   The courts handle every request on a "case by case" basis, and make decisions based on the unique facts of the individual case. I would recommend that your daughter meet with a very experienced lawyer who practices exclusively New Jersey Divorce and Family Law matters. I think that this would be a good "investment" on her part. David F. Salvaggio, Esq.   DISCLAIMER This information is not, nor is it intended to be, legal advice. How do I modify my divorce decree from New Jersey now that I live in Virginia

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
If you want relief form the NEw Jersey Courts you will have to apply to the New Jersey Court.  It will be easiest to do that, because your ex-wife still lives here and the New Jersey Court has jurisdiction over her.  There are documents you can look at online at the New Jersey Judiciary Website, and you might be able to do this on your own.

I need a divorce lawyer who will help me with constructive abandonment and alimony

Richard Scott Diamond
Answered by attorney Richard Scott Diamond (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Diamond & Diamond, P.A.
If you are ready to move forward with a divorce matter, you should meet with one or more divorce lawyers for a consultation to better understand your rights in a divorce and your spouses obligation ( if any) for the payment of spousal support. Without sitting down with you and reviewing your income setting, your spouses income setting, the difference between your respective income settings, the nature of your disability, the assets and liabilities of the marriage, the lenght of the marriage, etc its impossible for any lawyer to give you competent advice. My suggestion is that you look for family law attorneys offering free initial consultations and take advantage of that opportuntity to become better educated.
