Will ex husband bring another woman to live in the house (our house) ?

Answered by attorney Bari Zell Weinberger
Divorce lawyer at Weinberger Divorce Family Law Group, LLC
Thank you for your question. I understand how concerned you must be about your living situation when you just went through the divorce process.   The short answer is that it depends on the terms of your divorce agreement and your specific living arrangements. We would need to analyze the divorce decree and any written agreements in place to accurately analyze your options and decide how to move forward.   I understand that you need answers and need to protect yourself. I strongly suggest that you schedule a consultation with a family law attorney who has experience with New Jersey law as soon as possible, so that you can understand the implications for you and your family moving forward.

Can an attorney subpoena bank statements and loan papers from a spouse and have them by Dec. 12th 2013 (almost 2 weeks)?

Bruce Provda
Answered by attorney Bruce Provda (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Provda Law Firm
First you should contact an attorney, they will know how to subpoena records and other information. Do not try to do this alone as the other party is most likely represented by counsel.

Can I make a large purchase after I filed for divorce without sharing the purchase with my husband?

Answered by attorney Brent R. Chipman
Divorce lawyer at Law Office of Brent R. Chipman
It depends on whether or not you use your own funds for the purchase, and also if by using the funds for the purchase, you deprive the other spouse of marital assets that should have been used for their support. One way to avoid the problem is to wait until the decree is entered to make the purchase, or to minimize the amount of any down payment for the purchase. A large purchase on credit does not provide an asset with any worth for the court to divide.
