My ex claimed a child who is my depdant on his taxes. How do I resolve this?

Divorce lawyer at The Barrister Firm, P.A.
You file for the kids that you agreed to and the IRS will probably flag both reports to determine what is going on; at which time you will give them a copy of the divorce decree showing who is allowed to claim who. Moreover, the typically IRS guiding principle in this area is that the credits go to the parent with legal custody of the children.

How do I divorce my wife?

Answered by attorney John F Brennan (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Musilli Brennan Associates, PLLC
Clearly would behoove you to engage an attorney to assist. Will have to file in the proper court and jurisdiction and provide the necessary paperwork and judgment. If you value your time, it is doubtful that you would be saving anything by attempting to do this alone.

What is a wife entitled to in the state of Florida after 9 years marriage if no assets have been acquired?

Answered by attorney Cindy S. Vova
Divorce lawyer at Law Offices of Cindy S. Vova, P.A.
You may think there are no assets, but perhaps there are some assets.  For example, did the husband have any type of retirement account through his employment?  Also, she may be entitled to some of the appreciation on the value of the home, even though the husband owned it before marriage.  There is a formula used (referred to as the Kaa case) to determine just how much of the equity of the home she may be entitled to receive. Also, she may be entitled to alimony, which is based on need and ability to pay, and if they have children together, and she earns less than him, child support as well. The devil in calculating all of these is in the detail.  SHe should as least get a consultation with an attorney to know her rights.   Best of luck to her. Cindy Vova Law Office of CIndy S.
