If you marry someone while already married but then divorce spouse number one are you guilty of a crime?

Answered by attorney Ronald L Bornstein (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Ronald Bornstein, Attorney at Law
It's unlikely that you'd be charged with a crime if the bigamous second marriage was truly a mistake, as you state. As for the second marriage, generally it would be considered void because it was bigamous. You don't indicate how long the second marriage is, whether there are any children or property owned together, which can add further complications to your situation. You should consult with a family law attorney in your area and discuss the specific facts of your case with them.

Yes.  The court is responsible to make provisions to protect the best interests of the children.  If there are children of the marriage, it is required that the court be informed of the same.

What are my options if I no longer have enough money to pay my divorce lawyer?

Answered by attorney Dean Michael Esposito
Divorce lawyer at Esposito Law Firm
In all likelihood, if the lawyer request that he withdraw as counsel and asserts valid grounds, the lawyer's request will be granted. The judge may order the attorney to represent you at a certain hearing or trial if the attorney's withdraw would jeopardize your case.
