How will a fraud grounds divorce affect me

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
I'm not sure why filing under fraud would save money.  There is a no fault divorce in New Jersey.  Neither party has to plead anything to be able to get divorced.  I would think that she could plead "no fault" you could not contest the divorce, and it would be the same time/cost as pleading fraud.

If I get divorced, can I be forced to pay child support for my adopted daughter's kids, that my wife has custody of?

Cassandra T Savoy
Answered by attorney Cassandra T Savoy (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Cassandra T. Savoy, PC
Generally speaking, you would be obligated to pay child support for your natural children and your adopted children. You would not be obligated to pay support for your children's children. Your children's children have parents.

How do I resolve a dispute over property valuation ?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
Property appraisals are usually based upon the "highest and best use".  If the property could be used for a more valuable purpose if permits were obtained, then the appraiser can note that, but then must also deduct the cost for obtaining those permits, and the permits must be something reasonable.  The use must be something that is allowed in the zone.  An appraisal is just an "opinion" of value and one person's opinion could be different from another person's opinion.
