My husband is in Texas and I am in California, can I get divorced in Texas even if i didn’t sign anything or get served?

I agree you probably need the help of a family law attorney as you are now dealing with another state. You should contact the local county bar association where you live. Many of the bar associations offer referral services for attorney who accept low income or pro bono cases. You might also check with the California State Bar Association's website for referral information.

You're entitled to half the community property and debt acquired during the marriage. i.e. property acquired using income from either of you made during the marriage. You may also be entitled to child support and possibly spousal support for a year or two.

What will happen if I didn't reply within 30 days after being served with divorce papers?

Answered by attorney David Ari Goldberg
Divorce lawyer at The Goldberg Legal Group
You are able to still file a response to the divorce so long as your husband has not filed for a entry of default. So you may need to check the court file to see what has been filed so far. If your husband has filed for an entry of default then you will have to file a motion to set aside the default.
