Can I get divorced from my husband if he lives in Egypt and I live in the US?

Yes, you can. You can file for divorce where you have been a resident for at least six months. Your biggest problem will be getting him personally served wit papers in Egypt but it can be done. You should be able to get it accomplished.

Can I complete my five year pending divorce or start a new case?

Answered by attorney Robert Andrew Michael Burns (Unclaimed Profile)

You can continue with the case so long as it has not been dismissed. Without seeing the paperwork I cannot advise you on whether you can fix it. You have free assistance and counseling from the Family Law Facilitator at your Courthouse. I'd use it.

If my divorce is in default now, what must I do to get fully divorced?

Contact the court clerk to see how you can set up a default divorce hearing. You could probably get a paralegal to help you get this finalized.
