Will the court allow an agreement between parents that the non-custodial parent will not pay child support?

Answered by attorney John Joseph Stanton (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at The Law Office of John J. Stanton
The court will allow it if the custodial parent is not receiving any aid from the County/State. However, the order will always be modifiable upon a showing of a change in circumstances.

What do you think is the best way to terminate our marriage?

J Matthew Catchick
Answered by attorney J Matthew Catchick (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Catchick Law, P.C.
In order to get an Annulment in Michigan, you must meet one of several statutory grounds. The mere fact that the two of you never slept together, standing alone, would be insufficient. However, "fraud" is a legitimate basis to request an Annulment, so you may be able to succeed on that basis if you can convince a Court that your ex "duped" you into marrying him, just so he could get his citizenship.

How can I find out if I am still married or divorced?

Answered by attorney Madanmohan Singh Ahluwalia
Divorce lawyer at Ahluwalia Law Professional Corporation
You can go to local courthouse or to the courthouse where your spouse lives and check court records. Divorce requires notice. You would not end up getting a divorce without notice (unless you moved across the state, or were away from last known address for long period of time or were in coma).
