How do i get a divorce with out going broke?

Answered by attorney Diana L. Anderson
Divorce lawyer at Diana L. Anderson
You should negotiate all of the division of property before you file for divorce.  You can do something called a Property Settlement Agreement, and get that finalized before you file.  If you have that done, drafting the complaint, and filing will be relatively inexpensive.

I presume that you are the person who posted the previous Question.   If you are, the additional facts that you have given further highlight why you need a lawyer. If you are not that person--Your question does not specify the town in which you live.  My firm's offices are located in Morristown, NJ (Morris County).  If your location is such that you would consider having our firm represent you, I am willing to have a brief personal phone call with you (at no charge).  You can call our offices at any time of the day or night.  Our telephone number is 973-455-1220. Please leave a voice mail message if I am not available to speak with you when you call.

How can I keep most of our assets in the divorce settlement?

Answered by attorney Joanna Marie Mitchell (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Joanna Mitchell & Associates, P.A.
In most courts of law, I would say no, you do not have a case, especially after 20 years of marriage. If you are in Florida, he will get half of whatever was accumulated during the marriage.
