Did either one of you have a lawyer representing you in the divorce? It is almost always a good idea. If you had one, go back to him or her and ask about the merits of bringing a contempt action. A defense to a contempt motion is inability to perform. That may have happened in this case. In which case you probably want a new order requiring her to try, say at least once per year, and give proof of her application.

If one of you is a Florida resident ( Fla DL or voter registration) and there is a Marital Settlement Agreement most local judges will grant dissolution. Here it takes less than 30 days from the time both parties sign the Settlement Agreement. I was an Army JAG for 27 years.

My understanding is that a same sex couple has no special rights in a dissolution of marriage. You have the same right to spousal support/alimony as any other spouse. You need to review Equitable Distribution and Spousal Support in Chapter 61 of the Florida statutes.
