You already know what the best thing to do is, have a full discussion with a local family attorney. It can be done, but you certainly need to get an attorney for this, in my opinion.

How do I divorce and remain his life insurance beneficiary.

Answered by attorney Cindy S. Vova
Divorce lawyer at Law Offices of Cindy S. Vova, P.A.
You can negotiate and/or ask the Court to require your spouse to name you as the irrevocable beneficiary of the life insurance policy.  Although the court is not compelled to do it, from your brief background it seems that you certainly have grounds for the court to order this.     Optimistically, perhaps your spouse will agree without court.  However, you should make sure the wording of any settlement regarding this is reviewed by an attorney so it is legally enforceable. Is my previous marriage still valid if I got divorced but went out of state to get married before my 60 day waiting period was up?

Answered by attorney Ronald L Bornstein (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Ronald Bornstein, Attorney at Law
There is no waiting period in FL for a divorce to be final. In FL, a divorce is generally final once the judge puts their signature upon it. If you were divorced in another State, but got remarried before that State's waiting period for the divorce to be final was up, then it is not the previous marriage that is still valid, it's the current marriage that may be voidable. This can be a complicated area of the law, so you should engage an attorney to discuss the specifics of your situation and your options.
