What can I do if I have a non-responsive attorney in a divorce case?

Cathy Rose Cook
Answered by attorney Cathy Rose Cook (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Cathy R. Cook, Attorney at Law
If he doesn't respond, send him another email telling him if he doesn't respond, you are going to file a complaint with the local bar association. That should spark a response. If not, do file the complaint. Do you know if your divorce case is even still pending? With no action, the court may have dismissed it. That will be a negative against the attorney as well.

What are my rights on a house that my husband and I bought together?

Answered by attorney Anita Alice Webster (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at Law Offices of Webster & Associates
You can keep the house but you will need to refinance the loan into your name or assume the loan. You can ask your husband to give you time to do that and if you cannot succeed within that time frame, the house will be sold.

What can I do if my fiance abandoned me and left me with the bills?

Answered by attorney Seth David Schraier
Divorce lawyer at Law Office of Seth D. Schraier, P.C.
Since you were not married during this whole time, then she has no legal obligation in relation to her relationship to you. Unless any of the bills are in both of your names, then you will be responsible for all the bills that are just under your name.
