What do I do next if I was served divorce papers but did not file a response?

If a request to enter your default has not been filed with the court, you can still file a Response. However, if you agree with everything in the petition have the other side go ahead and take your default and get a judgment without your input. It is cheaper and easier. Just be sure you are clear on what the petition is seeking

Can I purchase a home during divorce?

Answered by attorney Jessica M Cotter (Unclaimed Profile)
Divorce lawyer at The Law Firm of Jessica M. Cotter, P.L.L.C.
Yes there is, or at least there may be. In Arizona your soon to be ex can sign a community property disclaimer deed, indicating that although you remain married this new house will be your separate property. You should speak with your attorney about this, and also verify with the company that will issue your title insurance that they will accept the disclaimer deed.

Can my wife go after my house if I file for divorce?

Mostly likely you will get the home, but she will be entitled to reimbursement of one-half of the the community property funds that you have used on the property during the years you were married (payments toward your loan principal, repairs, taxes, insurance, etc).
