She has a remedy which will depend upon the actual facts of the case. She should consult a lawyer. Service of process may have been invalid. Furthermore they have to obtain a judgment before they can garnish a bank account.

My husband and I have been separated for 7 years due to him committing adultery. He recently received money in a lawsuit. Am I entitled to half?

No ma'am.  A personal injury award is considered "separate property" which is not divisible.  If there is an identified "income compenent" specified in the recovery, then that could be pursued as being marital income.
