Richard Kitch is a co-founder and a past President of Kitch Drutchas Wagner Valitutti & Sherbrook. In 2019, the firm celebrated its 50th year in business, and Mr. Kitch marked his 64th year practicing law. Mr. Kitch remains active in the firm.
Throughout his law career, Mr. Kitch has concentrated on the representation of health care providers, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies and various other product manufacturers.
Mr. Kitch is a fellow of the American College of Trial Attorneys whose membership is limited to 1% of the trial attorneys in a state. He has been widely published and a speaker on trial issues many times in the past 50 years. He has been a member and chairman of various committees of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, State Bar of Michigan and the Detroit Bar Association and has been featured on numerous occasions in legal publications.
Mr. Kitch was given “Star Search” credentials by Super Lawyers, indicating a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only five percent of the attorneys in the state are given “Star Search” credentials.
He is AV Peer Review Rated by LexisNexis/Martindale-Hubbell. The AV Peer Review rating is the highest rating allowed. It attests to a lawyer’s legal ability and professional ethics, and reflects the confidential opinions of the Bar and the Judiciary. He was also recognized as a Leading Lawyer in 2021 and 2022. This recognition is based on a survey of their peers.
Mr. Kitch is a member of various national organizations involved in his area of practice and has been widely recognized for his extensive, successful efforts to secure Tort Reform.
