Scott Slate is a general practice attorney whose practice areas include family law, general litigation (both civil and criminal), probate matters, personal injury matters, workers’ compensation law, and Social Security / Disability law.
Although Scott’s practice is concentrated in the area of family law, including divorces, custody modification, child support and adoptions, he also regularly assists clients with various probate matters, including conservatorships, the administration of estates and drafting wills and trusts. Scott also has extensive experience in representing clients in all levels of civil litigation and criminal defense, from minor matters in municipal court to complex litigation, including jury trials, in circuit court and the appellate courts.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from Samford University in 1991 and his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1993, Scott spent the next fourteen years practicing law in Morgan County and the surrounding area. After serving overseas for ten years on the foreign mission field, Scott returned home to resume his law practice and continue his call to service by meeting the legal needs of the people of North Alabama. Scott joined the firm in early 2019.
