Hailing from the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York, Kristie L. Gotwald moved to Ohio in 2007 to study at Cedarville University, where she completed her four-year degree in just two and a half years. She then spent the next several years moving around the country as a military spouse, earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2012. She is licensed to practice in Oklahoma, New York, Ohio, and federally in the Southern District of Ohio.
Attorney Gotwald has experience in civil, criminal, and family law. She has handled breaches of contract, Consumer Sales Protection actions, and negligent & intentional torts. She also defends the accused from traffic through felony cases and has been named to the National Trial Lawyer’s Top 40 under 40 list for Ohio’s criminal defense attorneys. Gotwald knows the stresses and emotions involved when it comes to someone’s family. She navigates her clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives, dealing with custody, divorce, or allegations from the State.
Aside from law, she is very involved in her community, serving on a zoning appeals board, working as a coordinator for local youth programs, and volunteering with her local church.
