I hired Don to represent me in a legal dispute with a former tenant. I paid him every bill presented in the total amount of $2000. When Don learned he would have to appear in court, he abruptly withdrew his representation and claimed he was not a litigator. I have asked for my file and over two years later I still don't have it. He should have told me from the beginning that he would not represent me in court if necessary. He knew from the beginning the case would likely go to court.
