Is there a way to get a grand theft felony charge taken off my record if I was a minor at the time?

Yes, you would need to request the court to seal your record. There are very specific requirements to to sealing your record. As long as you currently have nothing since that incident I think you should contact an attorney I beleive it would be well worth your effort to have the record sealed.

Do I need a lawyer to come to precinct with me

First, the police have no right to tell you that you "have to come in."  The only way they can oblige your presence is to arrest you; otherwise, you can ignore their instructions to come in.  I do not recommend that you go in to speak to the police without an attorney present.  You may feel free to contact my law office at (732) 899-2288 to discuss the matter further.

My 17 year old son was charged with 3 felonies, will he have to do time for them?

Answered by attorney Michael J Palumbo (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Palumbo & Associates, PC
Felonies as a first arrest is very bad. Why is he stealing other people's property? You need to remediate his behavior immediately. As for the law, find the best criminal defense lawyer you can afford you need to get these felony charges reduced.
