Can I have a criminal trespass conviction expunged?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
In Michigan, you can get any criminal conviction expunged from your record unless it was a potential life offense or a criminal sexual conduct charge of any degree. Civil infractions such as speeding tickets cannot be expunged and you can only have one charge on your record. Consult with an attorney who does expungements in order to get a more detailed answer to your situation.

If the DA suspects you of once possessing stolen property, and thinks they have some decent evidence to prove that, then yes, they will file charges.

Can a public defender represent you in a non-family law civil contempt case?

Answered by attorney Terry Alan Nelson (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Nelson & Lawless
You can ask, but you will find that PDs will tell you they are not available for civil cases. You'll have to either do it yourself pro per, or hire an attorney. If serious about hiring counsel to help you in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me.
